1. Purpose of this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how PROMO SCÈNE uses cookies and similar technologies on its Site.

It describes in particular the technologies strictly necessary for the Site to function, the security mechanisms used on certain forms, optional audience measurement, and the means available to you to manage your preferences.

This policy complements PROMO SCÈNE's Privacy Policy.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

A cookie is a small file or piece of data stored by a browser to enable, among other things, a session to function, a preference to be remembered, or certain features of a website.

PROMO SCÈNE also uses similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage ("localStorage"). Not all of these technologies are cookies in the strict sense, but they are described in this policy since they can play a similar role in how the Site functions.

3. Strictly necessary technologies

Certain technologies are necessary for the Site to function and cannot be disabled using PROMO SCÈNE's preference manager.

PROMO SCÈNE notably uses Supabase Auth to authenticate users and maintain the sessions of signed-in users.

In the Site's current configuration, the information needed for an authenticated session is kept in a first-party cookie associated with PROMO SCÈNE's domain.

This cookie may remain stored in the browser for a maximum period of up to approximately 400 days under the current technical configuration. This maximum browser storage period does not mean that a session necessarily stays active for that entire time; a session may end earlier, notably following a sign-out, an expiry, or an invalidation.

PROMO SCÈNE also uses a first-party cookie to remember the contents of your cart while you shop in the Site's merchandise store. This cookie contains only a technical cart identifier, cannot be read by any script running in your browser ("HttpOnly" cookie), and remains active for the duration of your browsing session.

These technologies are considered strictly necessary and remain active regardless of your choice regarding audience measurement.

4. Remembering your preferences

PROMO SCÈNE locally remembers, in your browser, your choice regarding audience measurement.

This choice is recorded using localStorage technology, not a cookie.

The information recorded contains only what is needed to know your preference, notably your choice regarding audience measurement, the date of that choice, and the version of the applicable consent mechanism.

This preference is not used to identify you and is not transmitted to a server through this mechanism.

Your choice is kept for a maximum of 365 days. After this period, PROMO SCÈNE asks you again to choose your preferences before enabling optional audience measurement.

PROMO SCÈNE may also ask you to renew your choice when a material change to the consent mechanism or to the optional technologies used reasonably warrants it.

5. Cloudflare Turnstile — security and abuse prevention

PROMO SCÈNE uses Cloudflare Turnstile on certain forms to reduce automated submissions, bots, and abuse.

Turnstile is notably used on certain provider contact, provider follow, and event subscription forms.

To perform this verification, a technical token and certain information necessary for validation, notably the visitor's IP address, may be transmitted to Cloudflare.

Turnstile is used for security and abuse-prevention purposes. PROMO SCÈNE does not use it for targeted advertising or audience measurement.

Depending on Cloudflare's own configuration and security mechanisms, certain storage or verification technologies may be used by Cloudflare. PROMO SCÈNE therefore does not present Turnstile as an optional audience-measurement technology in its preference manager.

Blocking the resources Turnstile needs, whether through your browser or a protection tool, may prevent certain features protected by Turnstile from working properly.

6. Vercel Web Analytics — optional audience measurement

PROMO SCÈNE uses Vercel Web Analytics to better understand, in an aggregated way, the Site's traffic and general usage.

This measurement may notably provide statistics on the pages viewed, traffic sources, and certain general technical characteristics used to produce aggregated statistics.

Vercel Web Analytics operates without an individual tracking cookie and is not used by PROMO SCÈNE to track you across sites.

PROMO SCÈNE only enables Vercel Web Analytics after your explicit consent.

If you decline non-essential technologies, if your choice expires, if your consent is no longer valid, or if you later withdraw your consent, Vercel Web Analytics remains, or becomes again, disabled.

Declining audience measurement does not prevent the Site's essential features from working.

7. Managing your preferences

On your first visit, or whenever a new choice is required, PROMO SCÈNE lets you:

accept the optional technologies; refuse the non-essential technologies; or manage your choices individually.

You may afterwards view or change your preferences at any time using the "Manage my cookies" link available in the Site's footer.

The preference manager distinguishes strictly necessary technologies, which always remain active, from optional audience measurement.

Opening the manager does not change your choice. A new preference is only recorded once you explicitly take an action to accept, refuse, or save your choices.

Withdrawing your consent to audience measurement takes effect for future collection as soon as your new choice is recorded.

8. Browser settings

Your browser may also let you delete or block certain cookies or locally stored data.

However, blocking all storage technologies may prevent certain essential Site features from working properly, notably opening or maintaining a session in your account.

Browser settings are independent of PROMO SCÈNE's preference manager.

9. Targeted advertising, profiling, and cross-site tracking

PROMO SCÈNE does not currently use any advertising cookie, advertising pixel, or other technology intended for targeted behavioural advertising.

PROMO SCÈNE does not use the technologies described in this policy to build an individual profile of your interests or behaviour for advertising purposes.

PROMO SCÈNE does not currently use any cross-site tracking tool for advertising purposes.

10. Technology providers and external services

The main providers involved in the technologies described in this policy are:

Supabase, for authentication and session management; Cloudflare, for Turnstile and the protection of certain forms against bots and abuse; Vercel, for optional audience measurement through Vercel Web Analytics.

Some of these providers may process information outside Québec or Canada depending on their own infrastructure and processing activities. For more information about technology providers and the processing of personal information, see PROMO SCÈNE's Privacy Policy.

When you leave PROMO SCÈNE to use an external service hosted on another domain, for example Stripe's payment service or billing portal, the cookies and technologies used on that domain are governed by that provider's own practices and are not controlled by PROMO SCÈNE's "Manage my cookies" manager.

Once you leave promoscene.ca to complete an order on boutique.promoscene.ca, the cookies and technologies used on that separate domain — including those related to payment, currency selection, or Fourthwall's own audience measurement — are governed by Fourthwall's own practices and consent mechanism, separate from those described in this policy. The cart cookie described in section 3, however, remains governed by this policy, since it is set on PROMO SCÈNE's own domain.

11. Changes to this policy

PROMO SCÈNE may change this Cookie Policy to reflect, among other things, changes to the Site, the technologies used, or applicable requirements.

Any new version of the policy is published separately under a new version number.

A change to the Cookie Policy does not, by itself, necessarily result in a new consent request.

Where the nature of a change to the optional technologies or to the consent mechanism reasonably requires obtaining a new choice, PROMO SCÈNE invalidates the prior choice for those technologies and keeps audience measurement disabled until a new choice is made.
